This annual series, open to the entire Stanford community, celebrates public service—at the local, state, and federal level—and its value to the public, to the university, and to the individual. The series was launched in Fall 2025 and is co-sponsored by the Haas Center for Public Service.
Current Year Presentation
November 20, 2025. The inaugural Stanford Professors in Government Service event featured Tom Ehrlich, Dean of Stanford Law School (1971-1975), Provost of the University of Pennsylvania (1981-1987), and President of Indiana University (1987-1994), Emeritus, in conversation with Paul Costello, former Chief Communications Officer for the School of Medicine. Professor Ehrlich served in five U.S. presidential administrations, starting with John F. Kennedy. Recording available here.
