Emeriti/ae Survey 2025 Report

The survey of emeriti/ae faculty and emeriti/ae staff was conducted February 20 to March 14, 2025. We are grateful to those in the emeriti/ae community who completed this five-year follow-up survey, and to the Council’s Evaluation Working Group (David Kreps, Margaret Ann Fidler, Cecilia Ridgeway, and Iris Litt) for their diligence in developing the survey and analyzing the results. The Executive Summary (p. 4) provides information on the status, wellbeing, and interests of faculty emeriti/ae and staff emeriti/ae, while the Discussion and Recommendations sections (pp. 30-31) suggest areas that warrant further attention and action. The appendices (pp. 32-55) provide a wealth of specific comments and suggestions. This report will also serve as a baseline for evaluation of our new initiative, “Enhancing the Emeriti/ae Experience,” generously funded by a three-year pilot project grant from Richard Saller, immediate past president, and Jenny Martinez, provost.
