Emeriti/ae Nook & Interim Center

The Emeriti/ae Nook and Interim Center is a comfortable and inviting space located in the heart of our central campus. Intended specifically for the emeriti/ae community, the Nook serves as a hub for informal interactions and small group gatherings. We welcome all emeriti/ae members (faculty, staff, and spouses/partners) to drop in and make the most of this resource!

Directions once at building:

Proceed toward the Law School buildings and enter the Crown Quadrangle area. Enter through the doors closest to the Library entrance. After you enter the building head directly downstairs, do not go through the library. Take either the stairs or elevator to the basement level. Once in the basement, turn right from the elevator or straight ahead from the stairs and look for the glass door with the sign Emeriti/ae Nook & Interim Center (Room 36).

Hours of Availability

Monday to Friday: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

After hours, only Law School-affiliated individuals with badge access may enter the building.

Amenities

Food is permitted. Enjoy chilled water from the refrigerator. For breakfast, lunch, coffee, and snacks, Café Rouge at Russo is located very nearby at the Law School building entrance; open 8–2:30 p.m.

Reservation Information

  • Emeriti/ae Nook: Though casual, drop-in uses are a priority, you may reserve the Nook for occasional small gatherings through the calendar linked below.

  • Short-term Office Space: Apply for short-term use of office rooms 38 and 40 for individual Stanford-related uses such as writing projects, recurring meetings with students, and such. Space will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
